It's time to set up your holiday streaming campaign
Are you ready to reach holiday shoppers on CTV? For many streamers, the season is already underway.
Last year, according to Roku internal data, holiday content searches on Roku saw an 86% increase during October. And in November, those searches rise an average of 39% weekly. This surging holiday spirit is mirrored by consumer activity, as about half of Roku streamers shopped Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals in 2025.
Meeting those shoppers is easier than you might think. Begin with the seasonal outcome you hope to drive: awareness, online sales, leads, store visits, or another measurable goal. From there, define your audience, upload your creative, set the budget and campaign dates, and establish measurement before launching. You can even create a shoppable ad unit that lets streamers buy with a click of their remote.
Our holiday playbook offers a month-by-month guide to reaching shoppers during this all-important time of year.

Good Morning UAE Job Seekers! ☀️🇦🇪
You may have a good CV, relevant experience and the right qualifications.
But here's a question worth asking:
Can a recruiter actually find you on LinkedIn when searching for someone with your skills?
Many job seekers create a LinkedIn profile, upload a photo, add their previous jobs and wait for opportunities.
But having a LinkedIn profile and making that profile easy to discover are two different things.
Today, we're focusing on five practical improvements that can help recruiters understand your experience and potentially find you through relevant searches.
No new job vacancies are included in this special edition. Today's focus is helping you improve your LinkedIn job-search strategy.
⏱️ Today in 30 Seconds
Recruiters can search LinkedIn using job titles, skills, locations and other filters.
Your headline should explain what you do, not simply announce that you need a job.
Relevant keywords belong in your headline, About section, experience and skills.
Your work experience should show responsibilities and real achievements.
Your location and job preferences should reflect your actual situation.
A complete profile can make it easier for recruiters to assess your suitability.
Today's goal: Make your LinkedIn profile easier to understand and more relevant to the jobs you want.
🔎 1. How Recruiters Search for Candidates on LinkedIn
Recruiters using LinkedIn, including its recruiting tools, may search for candidates using information such as:
Job titles
Skills and keywords
Geographic location
Current and previous employers
Industry experience
Education and qualifications
Job-seeking preferences, where available
For example, a recruiter searching for an HR professional in Dubai might use terms such as:
HR Executive + Dubai + UAE Labour Law + Payroll + HR Operations
A recruiter looking for a construction professional might search for:
Civil Site Engineer + Abu Dhabi + Construction + AutoCAD
These are illustrative search terms, not a guarantee of how every recruiter searches.
If your profile doesn't clearly describe your relevant experience, it may be harder for a recruiter to recognise your suitability.
The lesson: Use the language employers use to describe your actual skills.
✍️ 2. Fix Your LinkedIn Headline
Your LinkedIn headline is one of the first things someone sees when viewing your profile.
A common mistake is using only:
❌ Looking for Job | Need Opportunity | Available Immediately
This tells people you're searching, but it doesn't clearly explain your professional background.
A stronger headline identifies your role, relevant skills and location.
Example 1 — HR Professional
HR Executive | HR Operations | Payroll & Employee Relations | Dubai, UAE
Example 2 — Accountant
Accountant | General Ledger | UAE VAT | Accounts Payable & Receivable | Dubai
Example 3 — Customer Service
Customer Service Representative | Call Center Operations | CRM & Customer Support | UAE
Example 4 — Civil Engineer
Civil Site Engineer | Site Supervision | AutoCAD | Construction Projects | Abu Dhabi
Only include skills, qualifications and experience you genuinely possess.
Quick Tip: You can mention that you're open to opportunities, but don't let that replace your professional identity.
🔑 3. Add Relevant Keywords — Without Keyword Stuffing
Recruiters often use specific job titles and skills when searching.
If you're targeting an Accountant position, relevant terms might include:
General Ledger
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Bank Reconciliation
UAE VAT
Corporate Tax
Microsoft Excel
ERP Systems
But don't simply paste a long list of keywords into your profile.
Instead, use relevant terms naturally in your:
Headline: Your professional identity.
About Section: Your experience and specialisation.
Experience Section: The work you've actually performed.
Skills Section: Your genuine technical and professional capabilities.
Example
❌ Experienced accountant looking for a good opportunity.
✅ Accountant with three years of experience in accounts payable, bank reconciliation, general ledger reporting and Microsoft Excel. Familiar with UAE VAT documentation and monthly financial closing processes.
The second example gives a recruiter more useful information.
It should only be used if those details accurately reflect your experience.

💼 4. Improve Your Experience Section
Your LinkedIn Experience section should not be a copy of your job title alone.
Recruiters need to understand what you actually did.
Weak Example
Administration Assistant
Office work
Documentation
Emails
General administrative duties
Stronger Example
Administration Assistant
Coordinated daily office administration and document management.
Maintained employee records, supplier documentation and renewal trackers.
Prepared reports and correspondence for management.
Supported meeting schedules, vendor coordination and office procurement.
These examples demonstrate responsibilities more clearly.
If you have genuine measurable achievements, include them.
For example:
“Maintained administrative records for 120 employees across multiple departments.”
Only use numbers that you can support.
Remember: Specific, truthful information is more useful than exaggerated claims.
📍 5. Check Your Location and Open to Work Settings
If you're currently based in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or another UAE location, make sure your LinkedIn profile reflects your actual location.
Do not claim to be in the UAE if you're living elsewhere.
You can also review your job preferences.
Depending on your LinkedIn account and available settings, you may be able to specify:
Target job titles
Preferred job locations
Workplace preferences
Employment types
Whether you're open to opportunities
LinkedIn also offers an Open to Work feature with visibility options.
Important: Recruiter-only visibility is not a complete privacy guarantee. Consider your current employment situation before enabling it.
Your profile should communicate where you are, what roles you're qualified for and what opportunities you're interested in.
🧩 Bonus: Your LinkedIn About Section Template
Not sure what to write in your About section?
Use this structure:
Paragraph 1 — Who You Are
Your current profession, years of experience and main industry.
Paragraph 2 — What You Do
Your strongest relevant skills, responsibilities and achievements.
Paragraph 3 — What You're Looking For
Your target roles and preferred UAE locations.
Example — HR Executive
I'm an HR professional with three years of experience supporting employee administration, recruitment coordination and HR operations.
My experience includes maintaining employee records, coordinating onboarding documentation, preparing HR reports and supporting day-to-day HR processes.
I'm interested in HR Executive and HR Operations opportunities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi where I can contribute my administrative and people-coordination skills.
This is a fictional example for guidance. Replace every detail with your own verified experience.

Monday CV Fix: Match Your CV and LinkedIn Profile
Your CV and LinkedIn profile don't need identical wording, but they should tell a consistent professional story.

If your CV says HR Assistant but LinkedIn says HR Manager, a recruiter may question the difference unless there is a legitimate explanation.
🎯 Your Task: Compare your latest CV with your LinkedIn Experience section. Correct any inaccurate dates, job titles or responsibilities today.
Consistency helps recruiters assess your background with greater confidence.

💬 A Note from the Founder
Dear UAE Job Seekers,
Every day, I see job seekers focusing heavily on sending CVs.
And while applying for relevant jobs is important, I believe many candidates also overlook something valuable: how clearly they present their professional background online.
LinkedIn is not a magic solution.
Updating your headline today does not mean a recruiter will contact you tomorrow.
But a clear and accurate profile can help someone understand your skills, experience and career direction more easily.
If you're an Accountant, show your accounting knowledge.
If you're an HR professional, explain your HR operations experience.
If you're a fresher, highlight relevant education, projects, internships and genuine skills rather than inventing professional experience.
Don't try to look qualified for every job. Make it easy to understand which jobs you're genuinely qualified for.
That's the message I want you to take into this new week.
Wishing you a productive Monday.
Warm regards,
Shahrukh Islam
