Good day 😊

Every week I receive messages from people planning to move to the UAE hoping they will “find a job quickly.”

Here’s the honest reality.

Many people arrive without proper planning and run out of money before they secure a job. The UAE job market is competitive, and preparation makes a huge difference.

If you are planning to come here for job hunting, here are some important things you should think about.

1️⃣ Financial Preparation (Minimum 60 Days Budget)

You should plan your finances for at least 60 days of job searching.

Typical monthly expenses in Dubai or other UAE cities can include:

• Accommodation (shared room/bed space): AED 500 – 1,200

• Food: AED 400 – 800

• Transportation: AED 200 – 350

• SIM / Internet / small expenses: AED 100 – 200

👉 A realistic minimum budget for 60 days is around AED 3,000 – 5,000.

Many people underestimate this and face serious stress after arriving.

2️⃣ Prepare a Gulf-Standard CV

Your CV should be tailored for the UAE / Gulf job market.

A good Gulf CV should include:

• Clear professional summary

• Key skills relevant to the role

• Measurable achievements

• Professional formatting

• Updated contact details

Recruiters often spend less than 10 seconds scanning a CV.

If your CV is messy or unclear, it will simply be ignored.

3️⃣ Why an ATS-Friendly CV is Important

Many companies in the UAE use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to filter applications.

That means:

• If your CV doesn’t contain the right keywords

• If the formatting is not ATS-friendly

• If the information structure is poor

👉 Your CV may never reach a recruiter.

An ATS-optimized CV increases the chances that your profile will actually be reviewed by a hiring manager.

4️⃣ Apply Strategically (Not Randomly)

Most job seekers make a big mistake.

They apply to 100 random jobs without checking requirements.

Instead, do this:

• Apply to roles that match your experience

• Customize your CV slightly for each role

• Use LinkedIn networking

• Contact recruiters when possible

Quality applications always outperform mass applications.

5️⃣ Start Applying Before Arriving

This is one of the smartest strategies.

Start applying 2–3 weeks before coming to the UAE.

This helps you:

• Schedule interviews earlier

• Build recruiter connections

• Understand market demand

Some candidates even secure interviews within their first week after arriving.

Final Advice

The UAE offers great career opportunities, but success here requires preparation, patience, and smart strategy.

If you prepare well before arriving, your chances of getting a job increase significantly.
